Brecknock Decorative & Fine Arts Society

Introduction

The Brecknock Decorative & Fine Arts Society - founded in 1987 - is a member society of the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS).

The centre of our activities is Brecon in Wales, and our members come from a wide surrounding area.

Our objects are the promotion and advancement of the aesthetic education of the public, the cultivation, appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts, and the giving of aid to the preservation of our national heritage for the benefit of the public.

We fulfill our objectives by:

(b) the organisation of occasional Outings and visits to private houses, gardens, museums, or exhibitions,

(c) the organisation of occasional longer Trips - either to another region of Britain, or to an overseas area of interest,

(d) the promotion of activities such as Heritage Volunteers, Church Recording, and an appreciation of the Arts amongst younger members of our community.

Membership is open to any adult, although we may need to restrict the number of members for practical reasons.

We are managed by an annually elected committee, who are always eager to hear suggestions to improve the activities of the Society.
