The current restoration of Canterbury Cathedral
Lt. Colonel Dick Bolton
Lt. Col. Bolton is closely following the conservation and restoration of this much-loved building and its contents. Meticulous research is being followed by skilled work. He will speak of carved stone and timber, beaten lead, forged iron, jewel-like glass, ancient paint, plaster, wood and the delicate gilding on the wings of an angel. The conservation of such fabric is vital to preserving our national heritage.

A ‘Man of Kent’, Lt. Col. Bolton is a registered Blue Badge Guide for South East England and the City of Canterbury.  A Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass, he is also a member of the British Brick Society and the Lutyens Trust.
